International Women’s day is a day to celebrate the achievements of women in social, political and cultural areas and to empower young girls to dream big.
We have all admired someone in our lives whether it be our favourite singer, character or band who have brought lifelong memories of joy and excitement to our lives. To mark the achievements of women in the entertainment industry we have put together some of the most inspirational leading ladies, divas and girl bands who are coming to the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall.
Music for Good Friday, 10 April 2020
The Ulster Orchestra’s Music for Good Friday show will feature one of Ireland’s leading sopranos Ailish Tynan. Ailish has received accolades such as “Vilar Young Artist” from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and a “BBC New Generation Artist” award. She is also recognised internationally as an opera singer, recitalist and recording artist having been invited to the world’s most prestigious concert halls and opera theatres, and we are delighted to welcome her to the Ulster Hall.

For the first time ever, Kerry Ellis is arriving at Belfast for a solo gig at the Ulster Hall. Kerry is the ultimate leading lady of the West End with an illustrious career of over 20 years. Kerry has played some of theatres most influential female leads, from Nancy in Oliver!, Fantine in Les Miserables and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. She was also the first British Elphaba in both the West End and Broadway productions of Wicked.
Kerry’s talent translates to the charts too where she has released four chart-topping albums that led to her touring with Brian May of Queen!
