We have something for everyone at the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall, from iconic rock or pop gigs and laugh until you cry stand-up comedy, but we couldn’t forget to mention the wide variety of family friendly acts we have visiting our venues.
Struggling for ideas of what to do during the school holidays, or just looking for something a little bit different to do as a family? From their favourite authors, childhood heroes to science fanatics, we’ve got something for everyone. We have plenty of family-friendly events to excite your little ones of all ages, proving to be a fun-filled day out for all the family to enjoy.
Our most recent successful family events include Julia Donaldson’s classic Zog, which had its own BBC’s Christmas special in 2018, roaring on stage at the Waterfront Hall as well as the hungriest cat in town and Judith Kerr’s timeless tale, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, visiting the Ulster Hall. Such a fan-favourite, we are bringing it back next May! Don’t miss the Tiger’s TV debut on Channel 4 with a Christmas special this 2019.
From their favourite authors, to their favourite fairy-tales, our 2018 Christmas pantomime Beauty and the Beast followed the adventures of Belle and the selfish Beast in their quest to find true love. During the month of May 2019, we had crazy, young scientists strapping on their safety goggles to witness the explosive Brainiac Live at the Waterfront Hall, learning about the wacky and wonderful world of science. Our wide calibre of family events provides the perfect opportunity for birthday parties, family days out and amazing gift ideas.

In the Night Garden (LIVE), September 2019
Join Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and friends at In the Night Garden Live for a brand-new show on their first ever UK theatre tour in 2019!
You’ll see all your favourite characters beautifully brought to life with full-size costumes, magical puppets, and enchanting music. No child is too young - most children in the audience are aged 0-4. Parents tell us that children of all ages enjoy the show. If your child enjoys the TV show, then they’ll love the live show too.

The Frozen Princess Pantomime, November 2019
The icy children’s tale of adventure, friendship and bravery, brought to the stage by the brilliant creative team behind other Belfast pantomimes such as; Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin and Sleeping Beauty.
With enchanting characters, original music and filled with breath-taking costumes and set, The Frozen Princess is set to be a Pantomime not to miss.

The Gruffalo and the Room on the Broom Ulster Orchestra concert, May 2020
Terry Davies conducts René Aubry's inspired scores for this delightful big-screen double-bill, The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom, based on the much-loved children's books written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.
The Gruffalo is an enchanting film about a mouse who goes in search of a nut. Confronted by three hungry animals, Mouse invents an imaginary monster to scare them away. But then he comes face to face with his own creation!
Room on the Broom tells a magical tale of friendship and family. A kind witch invites a surprising collection of animals to join her on her broom, much to the frustration of her cat. However, what happens when they encounter a fearsome dragon.
