Press release issued on behalf of Ellen Kent and Opera & Ballet International
Verdi’s hugely popular Aida brings world class opera to the Belfast Waterfront stage on Tuesday 8 November.
A tragic tale of war, jealousy and revenge, Aida is brought to life by this spectacular new production of the opera classic, set against one of the greatest scores ever written by legendary composer, Giuseppe Verdi.
Traditional opera at its stunning best, you will be captivated by amazing performances of the famous arias, Celeste Aida, Ritorna Vincitor and the classic Triumphal March.
A sumptuous set boasting a temple dance, cascades of glittering gold and fire performers will transport to you to ancient Egypt and the scene of our tragic story: the doomed love affair between Aida, the enslaved Ethiopian princess, and Egyptian General, Radames.
Aida stars international French Soprano, Olga Perrier,* as Aida and celebrated mezzo soprano from the Romanian National Opera, Liza Kadelnik,* as Amneris.
Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
