Legends of Irish music and song, The Fureys, make a welcome return to Belfast Waterfront on Saturday 4 February.
This concert guarantees a magical night to remember as The Fureys perform some of the most emotive music ever composed, featuring their legendary classics together with more recent compositions.
Having now wowed fans across the world for almost four decades, their amazing catalogue of hits includes I Will Love You, When You Were Sweet 16, The Green Fields Of France, The Old Man, Red Rose Café, From Clare To Here, Her Father Didn’t Like Me Anyway and Leaving Nancy.
The Fureys were formed in 1978, quite literally by ‘accident.’ George, Paul and Davey were playing in Denmark with their own band (the Buskers) when Eddie and Finbar were involved in a road accident in Germany. George and Paul Furey travelled to Germany to be with their brothers, deciding then that they should join forces in one group. The rest is history.
Inevitably The Fureys have experienced line-up changes over the years. Paul died suddenly in June 2002 and Finbar left the band in December 1996. George and Eddie have continued to delight audiences on their tours.
The Fureys are currently recording a new album for release at the end of this year to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
Tickets for The Fureys are available now online, by calling 028 9033 4455 and at our main Box Office at the Ulster Hall.
